Have you ever known something
you had no obvious way of knowing?
Have you ever dismissed it?
Different traditions name the arrival differently. Intuition, inspiration, imagination, pattern recognition, the unconscious, the Muse, second sight, dream, revelation. They are not synonyms.
What do we call it?
They are not synonyms.
These traditions are not identical.
Their explanations are not interchangeable.
But human beings have been asking some version of this question for a very long time.

Where does knowing come from?
What is it for?
The glass of water again. Sunlight passes through it and, for a moment, creates a small spectral separation. A physically tiny phenomenon.

Interpretation
What might it mean?
Interpret humbly.
Application
What, if anything, should be done with it?
Apply lovingly.
Years earlier, she had begun asking these questions for a different reason.
She dreamed things.
Sometimes she knew things she could not easily explain.
She had experiences, but no framework for understanding them.
So she studied.
She practiced.
She learned to test.
She learned to distinguish revelation from interpretation, and interpretation from application.
And she learned that the most important gift—the greatest of all—is
Love.
A formative word
she received and carried
Long before CHARISMATA, words had been spoken over her.
I have blessed you more than you asked, materially and spiritually.
And I am the Lord who is going to anoint you to be a blessing to many.
You will encourage.
You will exhort.
You will counsel.
I will bring the words of edification through you.
You will build
and not break.
What abides?

The city and the last word. Same number.
Love.
Never collapse correspondence into causation.
The city existed before the cipher was checked. Paul did not compose the letter using the modern English cipher. A correspondence may invite inquiry without establishing its explanation.
Certainty can fail.
Knowledge can fail.
Interpretations can fail.
What should remain?
Love.
Knowledge without humility can become certainty too soon.
Revelation without discernment can become harm.
A gift without love can become a spectacle.
A gift held in love
can become service.
